MUGA

MUGA is the acronym for Multi Use Games Area. It is a multipurpose facility designed to incorporate sports such as, football, basketball, net ball and tennis into the one court. Alternate ford back structures and coloured lines for can be installed to facilitate each sport, along with a variety of surface options.

Asphalt

Asphalt is an all-weather, fast draining yet highly durable surface ideally suited to the demands of recreational sports grounds, playgrounds, tennis courts and sprint tracks.

We use porous asphalt to allow water to drain through, resulting in a year-round sports surface that can be used and enjoyed regardless of the weather. Our products have been used on sports grounds in large numbers since the 1970s, a testament to their quality and effectiveness.

Despite current alternative materials on the market, porous asphalt concrete courts are still the most predominant type of sports surfacing due to their cost efficiency when used over large areas. It also has a simple installation process and the required grip for sports activities. Most importantly, the porous nature of the asphaltic concrete is suitable for the Scottish climate.

Coloured coatings and lining

Courts can be colour coated with a specific coloured, water-based acrylic, polyurethane or polymetric surface coating to improve the aesthetics and the playing environment.

Polymetric surfacing is made by mixing coloured EPDM rubber crumb particles with a resin binder, and poured over the open textured asphalt base. Upon the curing of material, you achieve a coloured, porous, SUDs compliant, slip resistant sports surface. Finally, anti-slip play lines are painted onto the surface.

Wet pour / Rubber Crumb

Rubber crumb is versatile, low maintenance and holds exceptional attributes for physical activity, making it ideal for sports and playgrounds. Available in a wide range of colours in any design, our fully trained and qualified team is BBA approved for this versatile product’s specification, design, and installation.

Available in various depths, it can be installed softer in particular areas, accommodating critical fall heights, by altering the sub base. In addition, rubber crumb is slip-resistant and self-draining, providing an attractive, flexible, impact-absorbent finish inside and outdoors. It also provides a safe, skid-resistant surface to sports courts, sprint tracks, and playgrounds all year long.

While ideally suited to play surfaces, its properties are also an ideal surrounding floor for swimming pools, gymnasiums, nurseries, and doorway entrances.
