We will provide asphaltic concrete throughout Glasgow which has the necessary porous properties to allow for an all-weather, fast draining yet highly durable surface to meet the demands of recreational sports grounds, play grounds, tennis courts and sprint tracks.
We use a porous Asphalt to allow water to drain through it, resulting in a year-round sports surface that can be used and enjoyed regardless of the weather. Our products have been used on sports grounds in large numbers since the 1970s, testament to its quality and effectiveness.
Despite current alternative materials on the market for these facilities, in the UK today, porous asphalt concrete courts are still the most predominant types of sports surfacing due to its cost efficiency when used over large areas, ease and speed of installation and the required grip for sports activities. Most importantly, the porous nature of the asphaltic concrete is suitable for the Scottish climate.
Macadam porous asphalt consists of a permeable foundation of broken, graded stone, on which is laid the Macadam base course and Macadam wearing course (the playing surface). This consists of 6mm of stone, resulting in an open porous surface that allows water to drain through.
Courts can be colour coated with a specific coloured, water based acrylic or polyurethane surface coating to improve the aesthetics and the playing environment. Finally, play lines are painted onto the surface.
Rubber crumb or “wet pour” is a soft flooring ideal for sports and play grounds. It can be laid in a wide range of colours in any design. Our skilled team is fully trained and BBA approved for the specification, design, and installation of this product.
Not only is it a low maintenance product, it holds exceptional attributes for physical activity. Available in a variety of depths, it can be installed softer in particular areas, accommodating critical fall heights. Being slip resistant and self-draining, Rubber Crumb provides an attractive, flexible, impact absorbent finish, in wet or dry weather, providing a safe, skid resistant surface to sports courts, sprint tracks, and playgrounds all year long.
While ideally suited to sports and play surfaces including football, netball, basketball and tennis, it’s properties are also an ideal surrounding floor for swimming pools, gymnasiums, nursery’s, and doorway entrances.
